SO - Southern Company Declares Dividends

ATLANTA, July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Southern Company today announced a regular quarterly dividend of 43.75 cents per share on the company's common stock, payable Sept. 5, 2009, to shareholders of record Aug. 3, 2009. This marks 247 consecutive quarters - dating back to 1948 - that Southern Company will have paid a dividend to its shareholders.
